Case filed over Raifa’s death in Ctg hospital

CHITTAGONG: Chittagong’s Chakbazar thana police recorded a case over the death of 2.5-year-old Raifa Khan, due to alleged negligence of the physicians and authority of Max Hospital. 

Police recorded the case, on Friday afternoon (July 21).

Chakbazar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Abul Kalam confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Journalist Rubel Khan, father of the deceased girl, accused three physicians and the Managing Director of Max Hospital Dr Liakat Ali, in the statement filed with the police station on Wednesday (July 18). 

The three physicians are—Dr Bidhan Roy Chowdhury, 50, Dr Debashish Sengupta, 32, and Dr Subhra Deb, 32.

Raifa Khan died while undergoing treatment at Max Hospital in the city on June 29.

The family has been accusing mismanagement and negligence of the hospital and the physicians for the death.
