HABIGANJ: Police recovered hanging body of a college girl in Nabiganj Upazila Sadar of the district on Friday (July 20).

The deceased was identified as Nipa Dev, 23, wife of school teacher Asim Dham, of Nabiganj municipal area. She was a fourth year student of History Department at Brindaban Government College in Habiganj.

Informed by locals, family members found Nipa hanging from the ceiling fan of her room in the morning. However, after being transported to Nabiganj Upazila Health Complex, doctors declared her dead. On information, police sent the body to Habiganj Modern District Sadar Hospital morgue.

Dr. Iftakhar Alam Chowdhury of Nabiganj Upazila Health Complex told Banglanews that Nipa was brought to Hospital dead. Her neck bears marks of hanging.

SM Ataur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Nabiganj Police Station told Banglanews that the real cause of death could be revealed after post mortem report is made.
