Muslim Chowdhury appointed as CAG

DHAKA: Finance Secretary Muslim Chowdhury has been appointed as the new Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).
  
President Abdul Hamid on Sunday (July 15) appointed Muslim Chowdhury as CAG for next five years. 

The finance ministry issued a circular in this regard. 

Muslim Chowdhury, who has been serving as secretary of Finance Ministry, will replace current CAG Masud Ahmed. 

Muslim Chowdhury confirmed that he received the appointment letter and will take charge of the office after being sworn in by the chief justice on Tuesday (July 17). 

Muslim Chowdhury was appointed as Finance secretary on October 3 in 2017. Earlier he served as additional secretary of the Finance Department of the Finance ministry. 

On the other hand, Masud Ahmed was appointed as CAG on April 24 in 2013 and went to retirement on April 27 this year.
