JATIYA SANGSAD BHABAN: The state will bear the total costs of treatment of all the freedom fighters and the decision will come into effect from the upcoming July.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque made the disclosure during the general discussion upon the national budget of Fiscal Year 2018-19, at the national parliament Saturday (June 23).  

“From the July 1, the entire treatment costs of the freedom fighters will be carried by the state,” the minister said.

He also urged the parliament to reconsider over allocating a distinguished allowance for the freedom fighters on the occasion of Independence Day.

However, the minister termed BNP founder Ziaur Rahman as the ‘spy of Pakistan’ and urged the parliament to form a ‘fact & finding’ committee to reveal the true history regarding this.
