DHAKA: A young man was killed as a pick-up van hit him while he was crossing road in Rayerbagh area of the capital city early Thursday (June 21).

The deceased was identified as Manik, 22, son of one Abbas Ali in Kodomtoli area of Dhaka.

Manik used to work as a bus helper. 

Jatrabari Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Qadir told Banglanews that Manik was critically injured as a pick-up van hit him while he was crossing the road under Rayerbagh foot-over bridge.

Locals rescued him and took to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty physician pronounced him dead around 7am, added the SI.
