NILPHAMARI: The district administration has provided financial aid to the families of injured and nine deceased people of Nilphamari road accident.

Each family of the deceased was given Tk 20,000 while the injured Tk 10,000.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Khaled Rahim handed over the money to the relatives of the deceased at Chawra Bargachha School and College ground on Monday afternoon (June 18).

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Universal) Azharul Islam, Nilphamari Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Abojaar Rahman, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mamun Bhuiyan, Chawra Baragachha Union Parishad Chairman Mosharraf Hossain and Gorgram Union Parishad Chairman Riazul Islam were also present.

At least nine youths were killed and 14 others injured as a bus hit a pick-up van in Dhalagach area on Syedpur-Bypass road in Syedpur upazila on Sunday night (June 17).
