DHAKA: A total of twelve people have been reportedly killed by road accidents in Tangail, Noakhali, Thakurgaon, Barishal, Sherpur, and Cox's Bazar districts on Sunday (June 17).

In Tangail, 3 motorcyclists crushed were under a bus in Kalihati upazila of Tangail. 

The deceased are yet to be identified. The accident happened, around 2:30 pm, at Solla area of the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Bangabandhu Setupurbo Police Station Mosharraf Hossain told Banglanews that a local bus crushed 3 motorcyclists on Dhaka-Tangail Bangabandhu highway, killing them on the spot.

Meanwhile, a youth, who became injured in a Madhupur upazila road accident, succumbed to his injuries at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.   

He was identified as Faruk Hossen, 22, son of Joad Ali, of Arankhola Gasabari.

In Noakhali, three people were killed and two others injured as an auto-rickshaw and passenger bus collided on Noakhali-Comilla highway in Chashirhat bazaar area of Noakhali. 

The identities of the deceased could not be known till filling the report. 

However, angry mob has vandalized vehicles and blocked the highway following the accident. 

Sonaimuri police station officer-in-charge (OC) Nasimuddin told Banglanews that, on information, police rushed to the scene to deescalate the situation. 

In Thakurgaon, two motorcyclists were crushed under a minibus, another injured in Mathurapur area on Thakurgaon-Baliadangi highway.

The deceased were identified as Faruk, 28, son of Nurul Islam, of Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila, and Kawsar, 25, of the same village. The injured, Robiul Islam, 30, was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

Abdul Latif, OC of Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station, said a case will be filed in this connection.

In Barishal, a motorcyclist was crushed under a private car at Notunhat area of Babuganj upazila.

The victim was identified as Hasan, 19, son of Shahjahan, of Babuganj upazila.

In Sherpur, a teenager died after losing control of his motorcycle in Nalitabari upazila.

He was identified as Bayejid Bostami Akib, son of Maulana Abu Sayeed, of Phulpur upazila.

In Cox's Bazar, a teenager died after he was hit by a CNG-run auto rickshaw in East Hindupara of Kurushkul union of Cox's Bazar Sadar Upazila.

The deceased was identified as Babu De, 16, son of Noni De, of the same area.
