Road accidents claim 8 lives in 4 dists

DHAKA: A total of eight people have been reportedly killed by road accidents in Feni, Manikganj, Rangpur and Jhenaidah districts on Saturday (June 16).

In Feni, two pedestrians were crushed under a bus at Zero Point area of Daganbhuiyan Upazila of Feni.  

One of the deceased was identified as Jahid Hossen, of Ramnagar village under Daganbhuiyan Upazila. And, the other could not be identified.

Md Abu Usuf, Sub Inspector of Daganbhuiyan Police Station said two persons were also injured in the accident.

In Manikganj, two motorcyclists were crushed under a bus in Joka area of Ghior upazila.

The deceased were identified as Jahidul Islam, 21, son of Rafiqul Islam, and Abdul Momin, 22, son of Mahidur Rahman, of Ghior upazila.

In Rangpur, three unidentified persons were killed in separate road accidents in Pirganj upazila and Hajirhat area of Rangpur city.

Moajjem Hossen, SI of Pirganj Highway Police station said a private car occupant died after his vehicle had bumped into a tree.

Meanwhile, Babul Miah, OC of Rangpur Kotwali Police Station, said two pedestrians were crushed by a bus in Hajirhat area of Rangpur city.

In Jhenaidah, a motorcyclist was killed in a road accident at Pach Mile area of Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila.

The deceased was identified as Sohan, 17, son of Nitul Hossen, of Magura district.
