GAZIPUR: Police have taken integrated measures for the safety and hassle-free journey of holidaymakers ahead of Eid ul-Fitr, said Inspector General of Police (IGP) Javed Patwari.

IGP came up with the remark while inspecting traffic movement at Chandana intersections of Gazipur on Wednesday (June 13).

“We tried to form a force combining police and highway police. We deployed police, made special arrangement, provided additional manpower on the way out of Dhaka. In a concerted effort, our district police, highway police, reserve police are working there. Control rooms have been set up in different places so that we can make coordination with other agencies. Besides, we have watch towers, and check posts, “he said.

“People, with all our arrangements set up for their ease of journey, will be able to go to their villages without any trouble,” he also said.

IGP advised passengers to take caution about mugging and other circles, especially at night.
