DHAKA: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained seven members of banned militant outfit Ansar Al Islam, in a drive conducted in various areas of the capital.

However, names of the detainees could not be released immediately.

Cofirming the matter to Banglanews, Mizanur Rahman, Assistant Director of RAB Legal and Media Wing said on Thursday (May 24) that a huge amount of explosives, materials for making bombs, jihadi books were confiscated from the detainees.

A news briefing will be held at 4pm in Kawran Bazar RAB media centre, he said.
