Anti-narcotics drives to continue: Quader Obaidul Quader talking to the reporters

DHAKA: Road Transport & Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Thursday (May 24) said that the ongoing drives against drug abuse across the country will be continuing.

Slamming different political quarters for their criticism piled over anti-drug crackdown for last few days, he said: “The political parties don’t learn anything rather than brick-bat. If they voiced against drug abuse and terrorism, the country wouldn’t have to face such scenario of drug abuse”

Quader was talking to the reporters while inspecting a mobile court of BRTA, at Manik Mia Avenue in the city.

Adding that there’s a close tie among the drug dealers and arms smugglers, the minister accused them of carrying out attacks on the law enforcers, during the drives.

“Therefore, the law enforcement agencies can’t stay silent, they have to fire back in retaliation, to save themselves,” he said further.
