BRAHMANBARIA: A 19-year-old boy, who earlier jumped from the roof of Brahmanbaria sadar model police station building to flee, has succumbed to injuries early Thursday (May 24).

Russel, the deceased, was earlier nabbed by the police for interrogation in connection with a theft at a fashion house in the town Tuesday (May 22).  

He used to work as a night guard at the booth of a private bank in the city center municipality.

He sustained injuries after jumping off the roof, after being taken to the police station for interrogation over the incident Tuesday.

He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment, around 3:00am Thursday.

Russell’s elder brother Liton Mia confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

However, the deceased’s family claimed that police tortured Russell inhumanly and that led him to jump off the building.
