8 more 'drug dealers' killed in 5 dists Bodies of the deceased drug peddlers in Magura

DHAKA: Eight more suspected drug dealers were killed in countrywide anti-narcotics crackdown from Wednesday night (May 23) to Thursday morning (May 24).

Banglanews district correspondents reported the incidents from the respective districts.

In Feni, two suspected drug dealers were killed in the Jambura area under Fulgazi.

The deceased were identified as Shamim and Monir.

The deceased were accused in more than 10 cases each, said Fulgazi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Humayun Kabir. 

In Magura, two suspected drug dealers were killed in a shootout among two groups of them. They were identified as Ayub Hossain, 50, and Mizanur Rahman Kalu, 43.

Of them, Ayub was accused in 18 cases and Kalu in 21 cases, over drug dealing.

In Brahmanbaria, a suspected drug dealer also a murder accused was killed in a shootout with policemen, in Akhaura area around 2:00am.

He was identified as Amir Kha.

An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and two Constables were injured in the incident.

Some arms including a pipe-gun, a machete, a cartridge, hemp and syrup were recovered from the spot. Amir was accused in 12 cases for separate accusations including murder, said Akhaura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mosharaf Hossain Tarafdar.     

In Narayanganj, suspected drug dealer Selim alias Fency Selim was killed in a shootout at Bazlukhan area in South Nimaikasari under Siddhirganj.
Six policemen including the Siddhirganj Police Station OC were injured in the shootout.

The deceased was accused in 15 cases filed with separate police stations.

In Cumilla, two suspected drug dealers were killed in separate shootouts in Cumilla sadar south and Chouddogram upazilas.

They were identified as Rajib, 30, and Babul Mia alias Lomba Babul, 38.

Two LMG guns, hemps and phensedyl syrups were recovered from the spots.

Of the deceased, Babul was accused in six cases filed for separate charges including drug dealing.
