DHAKA: As representatives of the mass media opposed the proposed Digital Security Act-2018, it will be redrafted.
“Their (Journalists) opposition is logical. We will make a new draft. After sitting with them, we will finalize the law,” Law Minister Anisul Huq told journalists after emerging from a meeting.
The discussion was held on Digital Security Act-2018 at the secretariat of the parliament on Tuesday (May 22).
Various parties, including journalists, diplomats, human rights activists, objected to this proposed law. The bill was sent to the cabinet for vetting after it had been placed to the parliament.
