Bangladesh scientist discovers 2 species Dr Md. Belal Hossain with his discovered animals

NOAKHALI: Associate Professor Dr Md. Belal Hossain of Fisheries and Marine Science Department of Noakhali Science and Technology University discovered two new Invertebrate animals.

The two aquatic invertebrates – Neumania nobiprobia and Arrenums smiti – are discovered from the coastal area of the country.

The first one has been named after his university while the second one has been named after an eminent Dutch astrologist Harry Smith.

Dr Md. Belal Hossain is the only Bangladeshi scientist who has given the idea of whole new life in the international arena.

On May 14 last, the research was published in Systematic and Applied Archaeology under the title of ‘First records of water mites from Bangladesh (Acari, Hydrachnidia) with the description of two new species,’ from London and New Zealand.
