DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hosted an iftar party for war-wounded freedom fighters (FFs), orphans, disabled children and Islamic clerics at her Ganobhaban residence on Monday (May 21).

The Prime Minister exchanged good-natured remarks with and enquired about the well-being of the guests during iftar.

Renowned Islamic clerics (alems and ulema) of different mosques and madrasas of the country joined the iftar.
 
A special munajat (prayer), conducted by Senior Pesh Imam of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Maulana Mijanur Rahman, was offered for peace, progress and prosperity of the nation before the iftar.

Prayers were also offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other martyrs who were killed in August 15 in 1975.
