14 officials of Barapukuria coal mine sued

PARBATIPUR (DINAJPUR): A case has been filed accusing 14 officials of Barapukuria coal mine, over a clash among the officials and workers of the coal mine in Parbatipur of Dinajpur.

Secretary General of the coal mine’s workers’ association Abu Sufian filed the case with Dinajpur Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, on Sunday (May 20).  

Abu Sufian told Banglanews over phone on Sunday that the officials of the coal mine teamed up and carried out attack on the workers on Tuesday (May 15), leaving five of the workers injured.

Parbatipur Model Police Station earlier rejected a case over the incident, he said.

However, the 14 accused includes two GMs (General Manager) of the coal mine.

Meanwhile, the work-abstention of the workers entered eighth day on Sunday.
