DHAKA: A Dhaka court sentenced three persons to death and seven persons to life term imprisonment, in sensational Bacchu murder case.

The convicts are members of ‘Shaheed Group’, a gang of robbers.

Dhaka-2 Additional District & Sessions Court Judge Kamrun Nahar passed the verdict on Sunday (May 20).

A total of 11 persons were accused in the case. Of them, the robber gang chief Shaheed was killed in a gunfight with the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

Bacchu Mia was gunned down for not giving ransom Tk 20 lakh, in Jinjira of Keraniganj in June 18, 2006.

The deceased’s brother Matiur Rahman filed a case with Keraniganj Police Station, over the incident.
