TANGAIL: A district court has sentenced life term imprisonment to three people for raping a housewife 19 years ago. 

Judge of Tangail Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Khaleda Yasmin pronounced the verdict on Thursday (May 17).

The convicts are- Habibur Rahman, Sanowar Khan and Rafiq Mia. They are currently in prison. 

Court PP Nasimul Akhter told Banglanews that, on the night of December 8 in 1999, the convicts forcefully entered in a house at Kanchanpur village of Basail upazila in Tangail and raped the housewife. Later the victim filed a case in court.
