'Robber' killed in shootout with cops in Lakshmipur Nurul Alam Nuru, the deacesed

LAKSHMIPUR: A suspected robber who was accused in six cases filed over committing robbery, was killed in a shootout with police members in Lakshmipur sadar area Thursday night (April 26).

The deceased was identified as Nurul Alam Nuru, a resident of Charshahi union under the upazila.

Two police members were injured in the gunfight.
 
Some firearms including LG, pipe gun, five rounds of bullet and two falchions were recovered from the spot. 

Police said that Chandraganj thana police launched a drive on information that a robber gang attempting to commit robbery in Ganipur village under the upazila, at the night.

Sensing presence of the law enforcers, the robbers opened fire at them.

Police fired back in retaliation, leaving Nuru bullet-hit.

He was taken to the sadar hospital where he was pronounced dead by the physician.
The body was kept at the morgue, for an autopsy.  

Chandraganj Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md Jafor Ahammad said that Nuru is a listed robber. He is accused in six robbery cases filed with different police stations.
