DHAKA: International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) ordered to land former acting director general (DG) of NSI (National Security Intelligence) M Wahidul Haque in jail after arresting him on charge of committing crimes against humanity during the Liberation War of 1971.
A 2-member court headed by Justice Amir Hossain passed the order Wednesday (April 25).
ICT Prosecutor Barrister Turin Afroz moved for the state, at the courtroom.
Wahidul was produced before the tribunal around 11:15am.
He was detained from his Baridhara residence in Dhaka Tuesday (April 24), said Gulshan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Bakar Siddik.
Turin Afroz said she filed an appeal for issuing an arrest warrant for Wahidul on Tuesday which was accepted by the tribunal.
However, Wahidul is accused of gunned down some 500-600 persons at Rangpur Cantonment on March 28 in 1971, said Turin.
