TANGAIL: Taking side with Shahriar Alam, State minister for information Tarana Halim also asked how come BNP acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman is still a Bangladeshi citizen if he surrendered his passport without renewal.

She made remark to reporters before joining a meeting with Awami League leaders in Tangail circuit house on Tuesday noon (April 24).

In a separate issue, Tarana said Khaleda Zia and his son Tarique Rahman have been convicted in graft case and therefore can not participate in polls as per constitution. 

On the issue of bringing Tarique home from London, she said the government will bring him back in due procedures. 

The state minister also claimed that jailed BNP chief Khaleda Zia is being given proper medical attention but her party leaders are spreading falsehood about the lack of treatment.
