GAIBANDHA: Four people were killed and 14 others injured as a truck collided head-on with a night coach on Rangpur-Dhaka Highway in Gobindaganj upazila early Sunday (April 22).
The deceased couldn’t be identified immediately.
Local sources said that a Dhaka-bound sand-laden truck collided face-to-face with a Panchagarh-bound night coach of VS Paribahan on the highway in Panthapara Bokchor area of the upazila, leaving four persons including the coach and truck drivers dead on the spot and 14 others injured.
The injured were rescued and taken to Gobindaganj Upazila Health Complex and Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogra.
Some 2-3 of the injured sustained critical injuries, Gobindaganj Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Bashar told Banglanews.
The truck driver’s drowsiness might have caused the collision, the OC added.
