4 pry students hurt as school wall collapses in Pabna The injured students

PABNA: Four underage students sustained injuries as a wall of a primary school building collapses in Pabna municipality area Saturday morning (April 21). 

The injured are—Afrin, Afsana, daughters of Aiyub Ali, Al Amin, son of Amin Uddin and Ismail, son of Manik Ratan; all are from Shibrapmpur area of the town.  

The two girls are second-graders and the boys are in nursery group at Shibrampur Government High School.  

They were rushed to Pabna General Hospital immediately after the incident. Later, Afrin and Afsana were shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Witnesses said that sand and other construction materials were piled imbedding a wall of the school. The wall collapsed on the four students while they were walking besides the school building, leaving them critically injured, around 10:00am.

On information, Pabna Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jashim Uddin, Primary Education Officer Abdus Salam and Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Gowtom Kumar Biswas visited the injured at the hospital.

Being infuriated, students and guardians attempted to block Dhaka-Pabna Highway. Police foiled the attempt and bring the situation under control.
