DHAKA UNIVERSITY: The Committee to Protect Rights of Bangladesh General Students has announced agitation program in all the universities and colleges of the country Friday (April 20), to protest alleged eviction of several female students from a dormitory of Dhaka University (DU).
The agitation rally will be brought out at 4:00pm, said Convener of the student rights body Nurul Haque Nur while announcing the program from in front of Poet Sufia Kamal Hall at 2:30am
“If anyone has committed crime, s/he will be brought to book as per the university’s rules. But why they are being thrown out of the hall after calling their guardians in the dark of night?” said Nur.
“Some (the students) from the hall have said us that they are being threatened so that none can talk,” he added.
However, allegations were raised that several residents of Poet Sufia Kamal Hall of DU were compelled to leave the hall on Thursday night, over their involvement in quota reform movement.
