DHAKA: Three suspected robbers were killed in a shootout with the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka Tuesday afternoon (April 17).

The shootout took place around 4:00pm.

Some arms including pistol and machete were recovered from the spot, Dhamrai Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC, Investigation) Abu Sayeed Al Mamun told Banglanews.

RAB launched the drive on secret information that some 10-12 armed persons have been staying in Kelia area of Dhamrai, in an attempt to commit robbery.  

Sensing presence of the law enforcers, they opened fire. RAB fired back in retaliation, leaving three of them dead, added the OC.

Identities of the deceased couldn’t be known immediately.

The bodies were lying on the spot, till filing this report at 4:30pm.

Details will be informed later, said the OC.
