DHAKA: Protesting students and job-seekers announced on Tuesday night (April 10) that they will continue the ongoing demonstrations for quota reformation until they get any specific speech from the Prime Minister.

Sit-in processions will be staged since 10am Wednesday, they said before leaving the TSC of Dhaka University (DU), around 8pm.

Earlier, in the evening, the demonstrators said in a press briefing in front of DU central library that they will keep the movement undeterred until getting any specific speech from the prime minister regarding the issue.

On Tuesday, despite reports of divergence among the protesters of quota system reformation movement, a large faction of them staged demonstrations across the country successfully.

The protesting students separately gave ultimatum to Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury to retract her Monday’s remarks that hurt the quota movement demonstrators.

Afterwards, they burnt effigy of Matia, at the TSC in the evening.

Two groups of students brought a rally jointly from in front of the central library of Dhaka University (DU). Several thousands of students took part in the rally.

Apart from slogans on quota reformation, they also chanted slogans against Matia.

On Tuesday, students of several private universities including Daffodil International University, United International University, East West University, South East University, North South University, and American International University took to the streets separately in different areas of the capital city, expressing solidarity with the movement.
