DHAKA: Railways Minister Mujibul Haque said a contract will be signed with China about the finance of Padma Bridge Rail Link Project within the next two weeks.

The project will run on government to government (G2G) basis. With this project, the uncertainty of the work of Dhaka to Padma Bridge Rail Link will also be overcome.

The Railways Minister was addressing the council session of the Railway Diploma Engineering Association organized at Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) building in city’s Kakrail area on Thursday (March 29).

Around 75 percent construction work on the Dhaka-Chittagong double rail line has been completed. The rail link will be extended to Cox's Bazar. Akhaura-Sylhet will come under double rail line link too. The rail links will reach Mongla.
