DHAKA: In any stance, political or international, Egypt will stand by Bangladesh on Rohingya issue, said Egypt Assistant Foreign Minister Khaled Tharwat.
“Egypt is also dealing with refugee crisis. Therefore, Egypt will offer its assistance to resolve the similar crisis in here properly,” he said.
The first Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) meeting between Bangladesh and Egypt was held at the state guest house 'Meghna' in the city on Sunday (March 25).
Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque and Egypt Assistant Foreign Minister Khaled Tharwat led their respective sides in the meeting.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral, regional and global issues including the Rohingya crisis.
Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque said Egypt will focus on the crisis in the Middle East International Forum.
