CHUADANGA: Six policemen including five assistant sub-inspectors were closed to district police line over violating rules.

They are—ASIs Md Kamruzzaman, Indrajit Sarkar, Romen Das, Kamrur Hossain, Yusuf Ali and constable Jasim Uddin of Chuadanga sadar Police Station.

They carried out drive in areas under another police station without informing the senior officials.

The six plainclothes police conducted the drive at Singnagar village in Jibannagar upazila on Thursday afternoon (March 22), sources said. They beat up several villagers during the drive.

There is instruction to not conduct drive in plainclothes, said superintendent of police Mahbubur Rahman. Besides, they didn’t inform senior officials.

However, a two-member probe committee headed by aditional superintendent of police Tariqul Islam was formed to investigate the incident, added SP.
