DHAKA: The miscreants killed Garo woman and her daughter in Kalachandpur of Gulshan Tuesday night (March 20) to execute a plan for stealing money, said Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) quoting the suspects.

The suspects—Sanjib Chiran, 21, Raju Sangma alias Russel, Probin Sangma, 19, and Shuvo Chisim alias Santo gave confessional statement to RAB after being detained from Sherpur district. Of them, Sanjib is the nephew of one of the deceased.

Beset Chiran, 65, and her daughter Sujata Chiran, 40 were found murdered at their rented residence at Khanbari road in Kalachandpur Tuesday night (March 20).

RAB Legal & Media Wing Director Commander Mufti Mahmud Khan said at a press briefing Thursday (March 22) that Sanjib made a plan with his friends--Shanto and Probin to steal money from his aunt Sujata’s house. They became desperate to collect money for merrymaking on occasion of Easter Sunday.

They came to the house and spent some times, on Tuesday night.

They choked Beset to death being felt that she might obstruct their plan. Shanto and Sanjib stabbed Sujata to death, said the RAB official.

However, they didn’t find any money and left the house. Afterwards, they fled to Sherpur, added Mufti Mahmud.
