DHAKA: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said search operation is underway to capture the miscreant who killed a police officer during a raid by Detective Branch (DB) of Police at a house in Mirpur’s Pirerbag aera.

The minister said it to reporters at his secretariat office on Tuesday afternoon (March 20).

Home Minister categorically said this cop killer will be hunt down and brought to justice soon.   

On early Tuesday (March 20), a police inspector Jalal Uddin died following a shootout with suspected terrorists in a drive conducted by the Detective Branch (DB) of police to recover arms from a house in Mirpur of Dhaka.

Police, however, nabbed three persons from the house located beside Alim Uddin School in Moddho Pirerbagh area. The house has been cordoned-off.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said that a DB team launched the drive on information that terrorists are staying in the house.
