DHAKA UNIVERSITY: Students of Dhaka University staged demonstration at the campus demanding withdrawal of the case filed against protesters and also reformation of quota system in government job recruitment process.    

Students brought out a precession in front the DU central library around 11:00am Sunday (March 18).

The procession, carrying a banner of Bangladesh General Student Rights Reservation Council, marched through several important streets of the campus and joined a rally at TSC Raju Memorial Sculpture where hundreds of students took part.

Movement coordinator Hasan Al-Mamun said, on demand of quota reformation, a clean-up campaign will be held from Shahbag to Central Shaheed Minar on March 25 and a civil assembly will be organized at Shaheed Minar on March 29. 

Students and job seekers have been staging demonstration with several points of demands including quota reform in government job recruitment since February 14.

On March 14, police foiled a demo charging baton and tear shells on the protesters at the High Court intersection while they were heading to Public Administration Ministry to submit a memorandum. Later Shahbag police filed a case against 800 protesters over the incident.
