DHAKA: A garment worker was allegedly gang-raped after she was picked up by some miscreants in Pallabi’s Paris road area of the capital on Thursday night (February 22).

Police detained 2 men in connection with the incident following a case filing by the victim herself. Police also admitted her to Victim Support Center in Tejgaon for medical checkup.

On Friday (Feb 23), Pallabi police station officer-in-charge (OC) Dadan Fakir told Banglanews that the woman is resident of Pallabi area and works in a nearest readymade garment factory. She is married but has no contact with her husband. 

On Thursday night, the victim was having a conversation with a known person on Paris road. In the mean time, a man named Saiful and two of his aides- Hanif and Anwar- beat up the man she was talking to. Later they picked her up by force to Saiful’s house and raped her, OC said.

The OC also added that the victim, as plaintiff, filed the case. Later police detained Hanif and Anwar.
