Elephant tramples 3 people to death in Cox’s Bazar

COX’S BAZAR: Three people including a child were trampled to death by a wild elephant in Ukhia upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Thursday morning (February 22).

It has been reported that a wild elephant attacked Thaikhangli Rohingya camp and neighboring village while over hundred huts were rampaged. 

The deceased were identified as Md Alam Prakash Chikon Ali, 28, son of one Md Fazar of Dakshin Faliapara Nursery village of Rajapalang union in Ukhia, Foyez, 30, son of one Nur Mohammad of Kutupalang unregistered camp, block-D and another unidentified child.

Kutupalang camp in-charge Rezaul Karim confirmed the matter to Banglanews. 

Ukhia police station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Abul Khayer said, “I don’t know whether any one killed by elephant in Rohingya camp. However, a local youth was trampled to death in Faliapara.”
