DHAKA: Lawyers of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has received the certified copy of the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case verdict in which she was sentenced to five years in jail. 

Khaleda Zia’s lawyer advocate Sanaullah confirmed the matter to Banglanews on Monday afternoon (Feb 19).

According to court source, a total of 1174 printed folio including the 1168-page verdict copy and 6-page order were handed over to Khaleda’s lawyers on Monday afternoon. 

Earlier on Feb 18, Judge Dr Md Akhteruzzaman of Dhaka Special Judge’s court assured Khaleda’s lawyer Sanaullah for delivering the verdict copy on Monday.

On February 8, a special court in Dhaka sentenced BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia to five years imprisonment in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
