DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directed tea garden owners to take initiatives for the betterment of their laborers.
The premier said that, “Tea workers shed sweat to pluck out tea leaves, look after tea gardens. Therefore, attention must be paid to them, especially to their health and education. On the other hand, I hope that workers will perform their duties with sincerity.”
Sheikh Hasina said this at the inauguration ceremony of Bangladesh Tea Exhibition-2018, held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) at 300-feet area of Bashundhara in the capital.
The program took place around 11:30am on Sunday (February 18).
“Housing was built up for tea garden workers by Bangladesh Tea Board after coming to power in 1996. Several steps were taken to increase the research and production of tea”, said Sheikh Hasina.
