DHAKA: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained two members of banned militant outfit Ansar Al Islam, in a drive conducted in Dhaka’s Mirpur early Sunday (February 18).

The detainees are—Shahadat Hossain Sajeeb, 32 and Ishtiaq Ahmed alias Robin alias Ovi, 28. 

RAB-11 Detective Branch official Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Alep Uddin told Banglanews that Shahadat is an media section member while Ishtiaq is an defense section member of Ansar Al Islam.  

Details would be known after interrogation, he added.
