DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned home on Saturday night after concluding her four-day official visit to Italy and Vatican City following a stopover in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) capital.
An Etihad Airways flight carrying the premier and her entourage members arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at around 8pm.
Earlier the premier departed Leonardo da-Vinci Fiumicino Airport in Rome for Abu Dhabi at 10 am local time on Wednesday (3am BST Thursday) winding up her four-day official visit to Italy and Vatican City.
In Italy, she joined the annual governing council meeting of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) at the invitation of IFAD President Gilbert F Houngbo.
The prime minister Sheikh Hasina, at an invitation of Pope Francis, visited the Holy See (Vatican City) and held meetings with the Pope and Secretary State of Vatican City Cardinal Pietro Paroline.
