NARAIL: Three persons were detained over the murder of Dighalia Union Parishad chairman who was hacked and shot dead in broad daylight at Lohagara upazila of Narail.  

Narail Superintendent of Police Sardar Rakibul Islam said several have been nabbed over the incident. Culprits will soon be brought to justice.

However, no cases were lodged after three days of the murder.

Latifur Rahman Palash, the deceased UP chairman also an Awami League leader, was killed at Lohagara upazila square around 12:30pm on Thursday (February 15).

Palash was buried on Friday afternoon (February 16) after a post mortem at Narail Sadar Hospital.
