Rohingya man stabbed to death in Cox’s Bazar

COX’S BAZAR: A Rohingya man was stabbed to death by some miscreants at Balukhali Rohingya camp in Ukhia upazila of Cox’s Bazar on early Monday (January 22).

The deceased was identified as Yusuf Ali, 55, a resident of B-10 block of the camp. He worked as Imam at a mosque of the camp area.

Ukhia Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Abul Khayer said some unknown assailants attacked Yusuf while he was returning to his tent after offering prayer early in the morning and stabbed him, leaving him dead on the spot. 

The body was recovered and sent to Cox’s Bazar sadar hospital morgue for autopsy. The matter is being investigated, he added.

Earlier on Friday night, a Rohingya man was shot dead by some miscreants at a Rohingya camp in Thaingkhali area of Ukhia upazila.
