2nd phase Ijtema ends with Akheri Munajat Lakhs of devotees offer Akheri Munajat

GAZIPUR: Biswa Ijtema, the second largest congregation of the Muslims, concluded with Akheri Munajat (concluding prayers) of the second phase on the bank of Turag River on Sunday (January 21).

Senior Islamic scholar of Kakrail mosque Hafez Mawlana Mohammad Zubaer conducted the Akheri Munajats of both the phases.

On Sunday, the Munajat was offered at10:20am.

Maulana Abdul Matin gave the Hedayati Boyan (guidance sermon) in Bangla, prior to the Akheri Munajats in both phases. 

The first phase of Ijtema began on Jan 11 and ended on Jan 14 while the second phase began on Jan 19 and ended on Jan 21 seeking peace, prosperity and welfare of the Muslim Ummah in the Akheri Munajat.

The Munajat began at 10:40 in the morning and ended at 11:15am, with participating over two million people from all walks of life, including cabinet members, lawmakers, professionals and political leaders. 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina jointed the Akheri Munajat from her official residence Ganobhaban in the first phase of the 53rd Biswa Ijtema. 

The offering of Akheri Mujajat and Hedayati Boyan (guidance sermon) were read out in Bangla language for the maiden occasion at the Biswa Ijtema this year.
