GAZIPUR: Two pilgrims died after joining the second phase of Biswa Ijtema-the biggest congregation of Tablig Jamaat on the bank of Turag River in Tongi.

Assistant Health Inspector Chitta Ranjan Das, in-charge of Tongi Government Hospital Control Room told Banglanews that Shahidul Islam, 56, son of Omar Ali of South Keraniganj area under Dhaka, died at the dawn on Saturday (January 20).

Meanwhile, Mobarak Hossain Mohar, 65, from Islampur upazila of Jamalpur, died on Friday night (January 19).

Ijtema Murabbi (scholar) Md. Gias Uddin told Banglanews that the bodies will be sent to the respective families, following funeral prayers.
