RANGPUR: At least 19 women have died after sustaining burn injuries while warming themselves up by fire during the bitter cold of winter season in Rangpur in last 14 days.
Most of the burn victims, who sustained partial injuries and some of them later died, are undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
On Friday (January 19), RMCH Burn and Plastic Surgery unit assistant director Nur-e-alam told Banglanews that over 50 people mostly women, kids and elderly men, admitted there with 30-40 percent burn injuries since January 6. Of them, 19 died till Friday.
