SYLHET: At least 15 people were injured after Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith’s motorcade met with a minor accident in Sylhet’s Mirbazar area on Friday afternoon (January 19).

However, the Finance minister was not injured in the accident, said minister’s personal assistant Zabed Siraj.

Zabed Siraj said the minister visited the injured men who were admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College.

Abdul Wahab, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police, told Banglanews that one of the vehicles in minister’s motorcade faced accident due to braking system failure leaving 15 people including police members, pedestrians and party men injured.  

Earlier at noon, minister Muhith left Dhaka and landed at Sylhet airport.
