DHAKA: The government has reset the minimum age for recognition as freedom fighter who took part in 1971 liberation war.
The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has issued the circular on Wednesday (January 17) regarding the age of the freedom fighters.
According to the circular, one can be recognized as freedom fighter if proven 12 years and 6 months old on November 30 in 1971.
Senior information officer of the ministry Sufi Abdullahil Maruf confirmed the matter.
Earlier on June 19 last year, The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has issued circular declaring 13 years as minimum age for freedom fighter recognition.
