DHAKA: Fisheries and Livestock Minister Narayan Chandra Chanda said the government will take action to prevent meat import. 

He made the remark in a press conference organized on the occasion of Livestock Service Week 2018 at secretariat on Wednesday (January 17).

Mentioning government’s stance against meat import, he said steps will be taken, even law will be amended if there were any existing scopes for meat import. The government’s goal is making sure that people can get domestic meat affordably and farmers can survive on their own.

Livestock Service Week 2018 will be inaugurated by President Hamid and will be observed countrywide from January 20-25.
