DHAKA: The High Court Wednesday (January 17) ordered the authorities concerned to hold Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election within six months.
The HC bench of Justice Syed Muhammad Dastagir Husain and Justice Md Ataur Rahman Khan issued the order in response to a petition.
On March 21, 2012, a total of 25 students of Dhaka University filed the writ petition seeking its directives on the authorities concerned to take immediate steps to hold DUCSU election.
The last elections to the Ducsu took place on June 6, 1990. Student organisations, especially the left leaning ones, demanded the polls repeatedly.
