DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid rich tributes to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of 47th Victory Day Saturday (December 16).

The Premier paid the homage by placing a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu in front of Bangabandhu memorial museum in Dhanmondi, at around 7:30am.

Flanked by some top leaders of the party, Sheikh Hasina, also the president of Bangladesh Awami League, placed another wreath at the portrait of the Father of the Nation as the party chief.

Leaders and activists of Awami League and its associate bodies—Chhatra Legaue, Jubo League, Mohila League and Swechhasebok League were among others present there.

However, earlier in the morning, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have paid tributes to the martyrs of Liberation War by placing wreath at the National Memorial, marking the 47th Victory Day.
