DHAKA: President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock at the death of Fisheries and Livestock Minister M Sayedul Hoque.

In separate messages, the president and the premier prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and expressed deep condolence with the members of the bereaved family.

Sayedul’s death has created a vacuum in the political sphere of the country which is irreplaceable, the president stated in his message.

His contribution for the welfare of the country and to thrive the spirit of the Liberation War will be remembered, he said. 

Minister Sayedul Hoque breathed his last at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), at 8:39pm Saturday (December 16).

He was suffering from various old age complications.
